
February Beginner Skateboard Course
Cosmo Civic Centre - 7:00 - 8:00 PM - Jan 28 - March 4 Get rolling with a Right to Skate beginner skateboarding course this January - March! This course consists of 6 weeks; the first 4 weeks are structured classes that start at square one and increase in difficulty as the course progresses. The final 2 weeks are "free skates," where you can use the space freely with instructors available to help refine your new tricks! What is it? The ultimate beginner's guide to basic skateboard skills, including pushing, turning, and stopping, learning how to safely fall, mastering first tricks, and riding your first small skateboard ramp. Where is it? Cosmo Civic Centre in Saskatoon! Lessons take place in the combatives room, the last door on your right as you head down the hallway to the gym and weight room. When is it? Wednesday evenings from January 28th to March 4th. Two class times are available - choose 6-7 pm or 7-8 pm. This listing is for 7-8 pm. Who is it for? This course is ideal for brand-new beginners aged 6+. We won't be doing any flips, grinds or high-speed action. If you are already at an intermediate level and learning tricks, we suggest waiting for our outdoor spring and summer programs with intermediate- to advanced-level options. What do I need to bring? Free skateboard, pad, and helmet rentals are included. If you have your own board or your own helmet, please bring it! Certified bike helmets are acceptable. Please additionally bring a water bottle and a change of shoes. No outdoor shoes are permitted. Flat-bottomed skateboard-style shoes are ideal (similar to Vans or Converse), but running shoes are also acceptable. No open-toed shoes, boots, or heels, please! Cost: $125+tax per participant.
