Elijah Kerslake Skateboard Scholarship
The Elijah Kerslake Skateboard Scholarship exists to break down barriers to accessing skateboarding. This scholarship provides skateboard gear and access to programming for youth from low-income families, Indigenous youth, Newcomers (immigrant or refugee), 2SLGBTQ skaters, and those facing other barriers to access. Applications are accepted primarily on a basis of financial need and are also open to youth homes, recovery centres, rural Indigenous communities and youth organizations interested in starting skateboard programs.

You can apply for yourself or someone else. Applications are open to Individuals aged 4 - 18 who are: Indigenous / Metis, Newcomer Canadian (Immigrant or Refugee), Trans or 2SLGBTQIA. Parents experiencing job loss, significant financial disparity, disability, or other extenuating circumstances. Applications are also considered for individuals over 18 experiencing acute life circumstances like financial disparity, homelessness, disability, addiction, job loss or membership of a marginilized community. You or your family must be experiencing financial difficulty to apply. ​ You may apply on behalf of someone else. Let us know the situation, and we will do what we can to help.

Accepted applicants of the Elijah Kerslake Skateboard Scholarship are eligible to receive a complete skateboard, skateboard parts, shoes, or the opportunity to attend our programming for free or on a pay-what-you-can basis. Eligible applicants who are heavy gear users (go through boards and shoes quickly) have the opportunity to continue to receive gear on an ongoing basis: decks, trucks, wheels, bearings, and shoes when they wear out.
