    FOUNDER & LEGACY DIRECTOR

    As the founder of Right To Skate, Joel established the organization in 2011 and led it through the launch of its mission, first community-focused programs, and skateboard lessons. Now a Legacy Director, Joel focuses his efforts on helping the org cultivate community and inclusivity, especially for those who lack opportunities or feel out of place in traditional sports.

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Sarah is a lifelong skateboarder with over 13 years of experience in the skateboard industry and nonprofit sector. From humble beginnings at West 49 in high school, she went on to work in Los Angeles for the skateboard nonprofit Calling All Skaters. Sarah also holds her own as an athlete, maintaining a decorated amateur skateboarding career. She is sponsored by Vans, Anti-Hero, Ninetimes, and Spitfire, and competed in the national championships in 2024.

  • Zoe Kostuchuk

    SKATE INSTRUCTOR

    Zoe is a mixed-Indigenous educator who loves sharing the joy of skateboarding! By coaching skateboarding, she hopes to empower people to be confident and to have fun.

  • Cory Bisson

    TREASURER

    Cory has been a member of the board since 2017. He brings a background in finance and has worked closely with non-profits and business owners throughout his career. This experience has given him a strong understanding of financial stewardship, accountability, and sustainability—skills that he is passionate about applying to ensure Right to Skate can continue to grow and serve the community responsibly.
